The northwestern corner of Whatcom County has some of the finest winter bird watching in Washington state. The protected estuaries and bays offer protection from winter storms and a variety of food sources for the most discerning avian tastes. Not only do we share an international border with British Columbia, but we also share the birds that frequent the overlapping waters and shorelines. Join Joe Meche as he presents a slide-illustrated program featuring the multitude and diversity of the birds that know no borders.
Joe Meche is an avid birder, wildlife photographer and writer. Joe has spent many years observing the birds of this premiere birding area along the shores and bays of the Salish Sea.
