Preregistration is recommended. Unsold tickets will be available at the dinner.\nLIMIT: 50 \nJoin us for the 23rd annual Wings Over Water Opening Dinner and Featured Artist Reception.  Enjoy a catered dinner and no-host wine from local GLM Winery. Meet this year’s featured artist\, Rebecca Ledger\, whose expressive watercolor paintings bring avian behavior vividly to life. “Birds bring energy and joy to our landscapes\, much like art adds depth to our lives.” In my paintings\, I aim to capture each creature’s life spark\, helping viewers appreciate moments of connection with birds.” Rebecca’s artwork will be on display and available for sale at the Opening Reception and at the Birding Expo on Saturday. \nThe evening will also feature a silent auction and an engaging presentation by Peter Cavanaugh\, How Birds Fly. Through captivating stories\, stunning images\, and short videos drawn from his books 100 Flying Birds and How Birds Fly\, Peter explores the wonder of avian flight. From why birds fly to how it all works\, he blends science\, photography\, and personal experience into a presentation that will delight and inspire anyone who loves the natural world. \nPeter Cavanagh is a scientist\, author\, and bird photographer who lives in the San Juan Islands. He is drawn to the study of bird flight by his experiences as an instrument-rated private pilot\, his professional training in anatomy and biomechanics\, and his passion for nature and the outdoors. \nClick here for tickets
